Write for us
Coastal Design Journal welcomes original pitches that help readers see coastal design with greater precision. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise note is more useful than a finished draft without context.
What we welcome
We consider accessible pieces about coastal buildings, materials, public spaces, design details and the history of shore-side places. Strong proposals begin with a clear question or specific feature and explain why it matters to readers beyond a single view or location.
A useful pitch
Tell us the proposed subject, the central idea, the likely shape of the piece and what supports your account. Note any relevant access, image or commercial considerations. Keep claims proportionate, avoid promotional copy and do not imply first-hand reporting unless the work genuinely includes it.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option to send a pitch. Please include a way for us to respond in the form. A proposal is not an assignment, and publication is not agreed until discussed.
Design begins with paying attention
Coastal places are made from more than a view. Their forms, surfaces and public spaces reflect the meeting of land, sea and everyday use.
