Editorial policy
Coastal Design Journal aims to publish clear, careful writing about coastal design. We distinguish observation from interpretation, avoid unsupported claims and make relevant commercial relationships visible to readers.
Accuracy and care
We check names, dates and factual claims before publication and write within what the available material supports. We do not present an impression as a verified fact. When a subject is complex or disputed, we explain the limits of what can be established rather than smoothing them away.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for relevance to the publication's subject and readers. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a positive assessment or control over editorial conclusions.
Corrections
If a published piece contains an error, readers can contact us through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable reports and correct confirmed errors with appropriate clarity; substantive changes are not made silently.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid placements and partner material are labelled so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when used, they are identified as such and are not presented as documentary photographs.
Design begins with paying attention
Coastal places are made from more than a view. Their forms, surfaces and public spaces reflect the meeting of land, sea and everyday use.
